Email question:

I bought a chair at my aunt's auction that was painted and has the black leather square in the middleof the seat.
When i removed the leather square, where the nails were it left holes and the leather is torn on edges due to age.
Can i purchase a leather stripping to put over the edge, or a new leather square anywhere.
just a leather stripping would work if it can be purchased somewhere since the rest of the piece is good.
thanks

Hi Karen

Seat Replacement

Take a look at Chair Seats for a good selection of leather and fiber replacement chair seats.

Leather Strips

You might try a craft shop, if you have one close by, to see if they might have leather pieces or strips that might work for edging.  You should have pieces wide enough to turn both sides under and overlap underneath so a tack will go through both.  It'll look better and last longer than having rough edges exposed on the strips.
